The Israeli company «Delek Kiguchi», «Ratio» and «Avner» which owns 60% of the rights to the gas field «Leviathan», transferred to the Ministry of energy and water resources of the field development plan.
According to the plan, the Leviathan will become operational by the end of 2019, and will be able to supply to Israel up to 21 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
The original plan called for delivery of 16 billion cubic meters, but later it was decided to increase the capacity with the needs of neighbouring countries (Egypt, Jordan and Turkey).
In total, the programme envisages the drilling of 8 wells, which will be connected by an underwater pipeline from a floating platform for receiving and processing gas. The platform, in turn, will be connected by pipeline to land gas transmission system NATGAS.
Estimated cost of works up to the beginning of gas supplies – 5-6 billion.
