Hackers acting on the instructions of a foreign government, was recently hacked the computer network of a dozen power plants in the U.S., including nuclear power plant Wolf Creek in Kansas, reports Bloomberg, citing sources in the American security services.
The report said that «Prime suspect» in the implementation of these attacks is Russia. It is argued that earlier Russian hackers blocked the work of Ukrainian power plants, which led to interruptions in the supply of energy.
In the investigation of attacks on computer networks of the U.S. power plants connected to the Department of homeland security and the Federal Bureau of investigation.
At this stage of the investigation there is no clear evidence of involvement in these breaches of any specific group of hackers or state.
