On the evening of 24 July, a telephone conversation between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Jordan’s king Abdullah II. The main topic of conversation was the situation around the Temple mount and the crisis caused by the incident near the Israeli Embassy in Amman.
According to the website «Mako», the Jordanian monarch demanded that Israel immediately dismantle the metal detector installed on the Temple mount.
Earlier the press service of the office of the head of the government of Israel issued the following statement: «Contacts between Israel and Jordan in the last 24 hours, took place in an atmosphere of cooperation. There was no Jordanian requirements to remove metal detectors from the Temple mount in exchange for the return of the guard.»
