British non-governmental organization «Islamic Commission on human rights» (IHRC) on Sunday, June 18, initiated in London, a campaign dedicated to the so-called «Day of al-Quds». The declared purpose of the action held in the Muslim Holy month of Ramadan: an expression of solidarity with the Palestinian people struggling against the Israeli occupation.
The demonstrators gathered at 15:00 local time at the Dutchess County street, near the BBC Radio. Police coordinated a March to Hyde Park, it will be completed near the U.S. Embassy.
Among the organizers of this action, except for IHRC – «the Union of Muslim students», «Islamic student Association of London», «Cambridge against the war coalition, Friends of al-Aqsa», «the Muslim Association of Britain,» «the Campaign of solidarity with Palestine Scottish students» and «Jews for boycott of Israeli products» and members of anti-Zionist Jewish community «Neturei Karta». Among the speakers will be Rabbi Cohen and his infamous anti-Semitic activities of Baroness Jenny Tong.
IHRC alerted his supporters that the participants are allowed to carry the flags of Hizbullah, a political wing which is not, according to British lawmakers, as a terrorist organization and other factions in solidarity with «the struggle of the Palestinians.» We will remind that the USA, Canada, Australia and the League of Arab States (LAS) has made «Hezbollah» in the «black list» of terrorist organizations.
It is noteworthy that this year the protesters are not only against Israel but also against the authorities in Saudi Arabia and showing their support for Iran and Qatar.
As of Sunday morning, more than 23.500 people have signed a petition addressed to the mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, with the requirement to cancel the event, reports the website of TV channel i24news. The representative of the city Council of the British capital, said in response that the mayor is not entitled to cancel the action which is not contrary to the laws of the country.
The Zionist Federation of great Britain organizes a reciprocal event. But from year to year the number of participants of the «Day of al-Quds» in London on the order of more number of participants the Pro-Israel action.
«The day of al-Quds» was established in 1979 on the initiative of the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini. On this day in many countries held anti-Israel rally.
