In 2016, the number of couples who divorce, is 10.841, which is 2% higher than the year before, according to the report of the management of the courts of the Rabbinate. In 2015, divorce in Israel issued 10.653 pair.
In the first place in the number of divorces is Jerusalem, where in 2016 the process was completed 725 couples. The report noted that the absolute number of divorces in the capital has not changed compared to the year 2015.
In second place is tel Aviv, where in 2016 divorced couple 701 (2% more than a year). The top ten also included the Rishon Le-Zion (441 divorce), Haifa (429, divorce), Petah Tikva (379), Beersheba (365), Netanya (354), Ashdod (353), Holon (306), Ramat Gan (259).
Note that the report results in absolute numbers without taking into account the total population in the city and the relationship between the divorcing couples and marriage.
The most notable increase in the number of divorces recorded in Hazor and Glilit. There’s this figure rose to 69%, and the total number of divorces is 22. In Qiryat Tivon, the number of divorces increased by 48% (31 separation) in tel Monde 47% (22), in the mA’alot Tarshiha 32% (29).
