The government of Bahrain announced the arrest of four American journalists for providing false information when entering the country and «attacking the police», according to CNN.
The explanation from Bahraini authorities said that the Americans were members of the international media, but not registered and acted illegally, collecting materials for publication.
According to local police, these citizens of the United States arrived in Bahrain on 11 and 12 February, and stated at the border that the purpose of their visit is tourism.
Called the name of only one of those arrested. It’s Anna Therese Day. Previously she worked as a freelance correspondent for CNN, and worked with such media outlets as The New York Times, CBS and «al-Jazeera».
The U.S. Embassy informed about the problem and working to resolve the conflict situation.
