Belarus sold at auction for $ 12 famous estate, architectural monument of XIX century – the Palace in Zhemyslavl.
Manor of the counts Umestovsky in Zhemyslavl village near the border with Lithuania, built in the form of exact reduced copies of the Royal Lazienki Palace in Warsaw, was sold for one «basic amount», which from 1 January 2017 is 23 Belarusian ruble (less than 12 dollars), according to NEWSru.com.
The buyer was a Belarusian company, whose name is not called. Under the deal, it will get three more commercial buildings.
Today the architectural object is in an alarm condition. In 2012, in the Palace there was a fire, burned the roof. Since repairs have not been made, rain began to crumble ceiling, interior decoration, flooring. On the walls there were cracks.
Under the terms of the auction, the land and buildings will be leased for 50 years. The investor will have to comply with mandatory conditions of the auction: within one month to sign a security commitment, and to develop project-estimate documentation for reconstruction over three years.
After reconstruction, the terms of the auction required «the purchaser’s business activities with the use of the purchased objects for a period of not less than five years from the date of commissioning into operation», said TUT.by.
According to experts, the cost of reconstruction of the estate will be from three to seven million dollars.
