The authorities of the Indian state of Jharkhand has ordered the destruction of an elephant, for the past four months, killed 15 people. Cause of attacks on people was that 25-year-old elephant, separated from the herd in March of this year, became extremely aggressive, reports Hindustan Times.
First, as a result of elephant attacks killed 4 resident of Bihar, then the elephant moved to Jharkhand where attacked another 11 people. In the last week the staff of Department of forest protection and wildlife tried to find the elephant and calm it down. However, due to the dense vegetation visibility in the forests of the state not more than 4, 5 meters, making it difficult to search for the animal.
Hunter Nawab Safat Ali Khan, who was summoned to the state from Hyderabad, fired two bullets into the animal’s head from a distance of only 10 meters. It happened after a veterinarian Ajay Kumar tried to approach the animal to calm him, but the elephant suddenly ran for the doctor.
