According to the report of the armed forces of Estonia, the plane with soldiers landed at the Amari airfield, where they were met by Minister of defence Margus Zahka.
While in Estonia arrived 120 British officers and soldiers, whose task is to create staff of command of the multinational forces of NATO in this country. In April they will join the main part of the British contingent, increasing its numbers to about 800 troops.
«The threat is becoming ever more assertive Russia, NATO will remain committed to collective defense. British forces will play Estonia in a leading role, and to support our allies from the United States, which will be located in Poland» – said the Minister of defence of great Britain Michael Fallon, commenting on the accommodation.
Only in Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania is planned to accommodate more than four thousand troops from countries of the Alliance.
