The PEGIDA movement, advocating for a strict limitation of immigration from Muslim countries, urged her supporters to take place on Saturday, February 6th, a series of demonstrations in European cities.
In Dresden several thousand supporters of PEGIDA held a protest demonstration and urged Chancellor Angela Merkel to resign because of its policy towards migrants. Rally opponents of PEGIDA gathered not more than two thousand people.
In Prague held a rally opponents of mass immigration from Islamic countries, which was visited by about five thousand people, reported the news Agency France Presse.
Demonstrations against the influx of refugees and contramestre supporters of open borders took place on 6 February, also in Poland, the Netherlands, France, the UK and Ireland. In some cases it came to fights, and the police had to intervene.
