Thursday, September 28, a military court in Lebanon has sentenced to death Sheikh Ahmad al-Asir, a radical Salafist preacher who spoke against the Shiite «Party of Allah» (Hezbollah) and convicted of organizing several terrorist attacks.
Sheikh al-Assir was also found guilty of supporting armed confrontation between his supporters and the Lebanese army in June 2013, which led to the deaths of dozens of people.
Ahmad al-Asir was a consistent critic of Hizbullah. In particular, he accused the «Party of God» in the use of houses of his supporters in Abra for weapons. In addition, the Sheikh criticized Bashar al-Assad and supported the radical opposition in Syria.
