In Lyon (France) is contaminated stele of memory of the 44 Jewish children and seven adults who died in Nazi concentration camps.
We are talking about the monument to the residents of the municipality of Isle located to the East of the city, in the Department of Aisne. In April 1944, there was carried out the RAID under the guidance of the head of the Lyon branch of the Gestapo, Klaus Barbie, who received for their atrocities nickname the butcher of Lyon, writes TASS.
After the war Barbie was caught and received a life sentence for rounding up Jews and sending them to Auschwitz. He died in prison after four years of imprisonment.
The monument was desecrated soon after in Lyon celebrated the 30th anniversary of the famous trial of Klaus Barbie.
According to the Chairman of the regional branch of the Association «Daughters and sons of French Jews» by Jean Levi, vandals knocked down and broken stele, knocked her plate with the names of the victims.
