The Malaysian police have arrested seven suspects of involvement in the fire at religious school in Kuala Lumpur, which killed at least 25 people (two adults and 23 children), reports The Star.
Detainees – from 12 to 18 years.
Police chief Datuk Amar Singh Ishar Singh confirmed this information, calling on the media not to spread rumors related to the investigation.
The tragedy occurred in a three-storey dormitory building of the school «Darul Kuran Ittifaqi», where the main training time is devoted to tahfiz – memorizing the Qur’an by heart, the report says.
In such schools taught boys from 5 to 18 years. Similar educational institutions in Malaysia not only do not obey the Ministry of education, but not under the auspices of the Ministry of religion.
