The volunteer organization ZAKA involved in the search and burial of Jews who died in terrorist attacks or natural disasters, on the fifth day after the earthquake found under the rubble of an office building in Mexico city, the body of Rabbi Chaim Ashkenazi.
Rabbi Chaim Ashkenazi, son of the chief Rabbi of Mexico, was considered missing since September 19. Head of Department for relations with foreign organizations, Mati Goldstein, told the Walla News website that the volunteers ZACH was involved in analysis of blockages and search of the missing all five days. According to Mati Goldstein, a rescue team reported the discovery of the body immediately after the end of Shabbat.
Mati Goldstein, noted that the volunteers ZACH, religious Jews, he also worked during the holiday of Rosh Hashanah, with the permission of Rabbi Shlomo Twila.
