Tuesday, September 26, Moscow hosted the annual business forum of business initiatives «Israel-Russia 2017» within the framework of the 14th session of the Mixed Russian-Israeli intergovernmental Commission on trade-economic cooperation, headed by co-chairs Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Arkady Dvorkovich and the Minister of environmental protection, Jerusalem Affairs and heritage Zeev Elkin. The forum was organized by the Israeli-Russian business Council headed by Teymuraz Chichikashvili (Ben-Yehuda) with the support of the Embassy of Israel in Russia.
In the framework of the business forum discussed the prospects of cooperation between Israel and the Russian Federation, the actual joint projects and establishing direct partnerships between companies, promote business cooperation. In addition, the forum hosted presentations of Russian and Israeli companies and the signing ceremony of bilateral agreements and treaties on cooperation.
At the opening ceremony, the head of the Israeli-Russian business Council Teymuraz Chichikashvili (Ben-Yehuda) said: «it’s my seventh year I stand at the head of the business Council, and I can say with confidence that the annual business forum brings results. The results of economic cooperation, not only cooperation in the field of medicine, culture, technology. Today will be one of the most important forums because we not only created the conditions for a live dialogue, but also plan to sign several agreements between Russian and Israeli companies.»
The Minister Elkin said: «There is positive growth in the expansion of economic cooperation between the two countries. We are talking about the increase in turnover by 25% over the last two quarters, compared to the previous period. However, there is a huge potential, and so we have a lot of work».
The event was also attended by Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel in Russia, Gary Koren, a member of the Knesset Yoel Razvozov, a member of the Knesset Robert Ilatov, Moscow government Minister, head of Department for external economic and international relations Sergey Cheremin, representatives of state authorities, business circles of Israel and Russia.
Israeli-Russian business Council is a public organization created with the aim of establishing business contacts between leading representatives of the Israeli and Russian business and strengthening of trade and economic relations between the state of Israel and the Russian Federation.
