The crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Muhammad bin Salman has signed with the General Manager of SoftBank Masayoshi Sleep a Protocol of intentions, according to which in the Kingdom will be built the world’s largest solar power plant.
The first phase of the contract provides for the construction by 2019, two units with a capacity of three GW and 4.2 GW. In 2030, which is slated for implementation of the project, capacity will reach 200 gigawatts.
Also planned developments related to the manufacture of solar panels and storage of the received energy. It is expected that the power sector will create 100,000 jobs and increase GNP to $ 40 billion a year.
