Ho Min-Ki, 52-year-old South Korean actor and teacher, committed suicide after he came under allegations of sexual offences made under the public campaign #MeToo. It is reported by The Korea Times.
On Friday, March 9th, the popular actor was found hanged in the underground garage of his home in Seoul. The actor was accused of at least eight cases of harassment. Most of his victims were students at the University, where Ho Min-Ki had a course of acting.
The scandal was the reason that he lost his job at the University. Apparently, the actor was confident that his film career is over – as well as a few months ago ignominiously ended the career of two of his colleagues, accused of sexual offences.
Note that among well-known figures of South Korea, accused of campaign #MeToo was the famous Director Kim Ki-Duk, winner of the Golden lion at the Venice film festival. He denies all the accusations.
