In the night of Saturday, February 27, entered into force a two-week truce between the forces of the Syrian government and armed opposition groups.
Support for the ceasefire declared by the government of Bashar al-Assad and about 100 opposition movements and groups. According to Reuters, the night the truce was observed by all parties. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that in Damascus and the surrounding area for the first time in a long time, they stopped shooting. Shots were heard in the Northern part of Aleppo, but who did the shooting, is still unknown. An agreement on ceasefire has pledged to abide by not all participants of the civil war.
Meanwhile, all 15 members of the UN security Council voted in favour of the resolution on the ceasefire in Syria. This initiative requires an early resumption of peace talks between the Syrian government and the opposition, and insists on unimpeded delivery of humanitarian assistance. UN special envoy for Syria Staffan di Mistura expressed hope that the ceasefire, which he called the first serious chance for peace for all the war in Syria.
The truce does not apply to «Islamic state», «Dzhabhat EN Nusra» and other formations, recognized by the UN terrorist.
The agreement on the ceasefire was made possible through the joint efforts of USA and Russia.
On the eve of the Russian representatives confirmed that the air force continues to bomb «terrorists», but denied the Syrian opposition sources that the bombing became more active.
