The organization «reporters without borders» reported that in Syria kidnapped Japanese journalist and freelance writer of Jumpei Yasuda. Human rights activists claim that the kidnappers demanded for his head ransom, threatening to kill the prisoner or to sell to another group.
«Reporters without borders» did not report exactly who kidnapped the journalist, but said he went missing shortly after crossing the border in territory controlled by «Dzhabhat EN-Nusra» — the Syrian branch of the group al-Qaida.
Human rights activists demand from Japan to do its utmost for the release of Yasuda and call on all parties to the conflict not to kidnap journalists.
The chief Secretary of the government of Japan Acehide Suga said that the authorities are making every effort to clarify the circumstances of the abduction, and added that due to the delicacy of the issue, I would like to refrain from further comment.
Recall that in January 2015 the terrorist group «Islamic state» has killed two captured citizens of Japan: the contractor Haruno the Yukawa and journalist Kenji Gotou. Soon after the Prime Minister Shinzo Abe urged to use the self-defense forces to free the hostages.
