Thursday, October 26, the Prime Minister of Iraq Haidar al-Abadi arrived in Tehran, where he was received by the Supreme leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ali Khamenei, Iranian media reported.
In particular, it is reported that Khamenei advised al-Abadi not to trust the Americans, citing the «deceit» of their leaders.
The visit comes amid strengthening political and economic cooperation between Iran and Iraq, as well as during the struggle against Baghdad the Iraqi Kurds, where the Iraqi government enjoys Iranian support.
Haidar al-Abadi holds the post of head of the government of Iraq since August 2014. He grew up in a Shia family and was nominated for the post of Prime Minister of the radical Shiite party, as well as teachers that are ruling in Iraq since 2006, after the fall of Saddam Hussein.
