At the University of tel Aviv has opened a nature Museum that contains thousands of exhibits about the fauna of the region. It will be the largest collection in the middle East.
The cost of the project, according to the NRG website, is of the order of 140 million shekels. One of the main sponsors of the project was an American businessman Michael Steinhardt, whose name will be the Museum.
The opening ceremony of the Museum took place on Monday, June 26, and was attended by Michael Steinhardt. Introducing the draft, he stated that the nature Museum will give future generations of Israelis more than any other charity project.
In the coming months, the Museum will host a limited group of visitors. For everyone it will open next autumn.
Note that in June in Jerusalem opened the middle East’s largest aquarium, located in the city, which has no outlet to the sea. The Oceanarium occupies 20 acres and has 33 aquarium, the largest of which can hold 1.6 million litres of water.
