During excavation for the house under construction located in the city of Ardahan in North-East Turkey, was discovered ornate old casket, inlaid with Orthodox crosses.
Inside was almost completely decomposed body of a Russian military uniform which had largely rotted away. The place was called the police, which has attracted specialists from the historical Museum of Kars.
«We believe that in a coffin was buried Russian General, who lived here since 1878 — then this area came under the control of the Russian Empire. The body was buried according to Christian rites,» said the Hurriyet newspaper, the Museum Unver Solakoglu.
Hundreds of curious flocked to the scene, where they found the remains. According to the rumors spreading through social networks, the place was discovered the General’s treasures and historical artifacts.
The town of Ardahan located in the upper reaches of the Kura, near the Georgian border. In 1878, after the Russo-Turkish war, came under the Russian control, but in 1914 the Turks regained power over the settlement. The following year, residing here the Armenians were the victim of the massacre.
