State television, Iran’s IRIB reported that the government in the country blocked access to Instagram and Telegram messenger.
The decision to temporarily block social media and restricted access to the Internet was made by the Supreme Council on national security.
Telegram founder Pavel Durov wrote in his Twitter that the messenger was blocked after his administration refused to close the channel Sedaie Mardom, with 793 thousand subscribers, and other channels, which were used by protesters to share information.

Note that since 28 December, Iran held anti-government demonstrations that cover all new towns, and their members have put forward increasingly radical demands.
