The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to send to Russia for processing, nine tons of enriched uranium, said the head of the Iranian atomic energy Organization Ali Akbar Salehi.
According to him, the shipment of uranium sent to Russia in the coming days, said 19 December, IRNA news Agency.
Earlier, senior U.S. officials welcomed the resumption of the «commercial trade of radioactive materials» between Russia and Iran, in the framework of which Russian supplies to Iran of so-called «yellow cake» and takes enriched uranium. This activity complies with the terms of the deal with restrictions on Iran’s nuclear program.
In the first half of December, the American media reported that Washington is helping Tehran to agree on sending enriched uranium in Kazakhstan.
