The Chairman of the Hamas political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh has blamed Israel for the assassination attempt on the head of the security forces of Hamas in Gaza, Tawfik Abu Naim, according to Palinfo.

Car Tawfik Abu Naim exploded in the refugee camp of Nuseirat, in Central Gaza, at a time when Abu Naim, came out of the mosque, had intended to open his car. He was injured (presumably, legs and back), and then was taken to hospital, «al-Aqsa Martyrs», where he visited Haniyeh.
«Through such crimes, Israel tries to prevent Hamas to follow his path of struggle for the rights of the Palestinian people», — said the Chairman of the Hamas political Bureau. He also called on the Prime Minister of the Palestinian government, Rami Hamdala to do everything possible to investigate this crime and bring the perpetrators to justice.
Tawfiq Abu Naim began his career in the office of the security services of Hamas in the mid 80-ies. After about a year and a half after the beginning of the first intifada (in 1989) he was arrested and imprisoned in Ashkelon. In 2011, Tawfiq Abu Naeem has been released as part of the deal to return Gilad Shalit and then began to rise rapidly through the ranks of Hamas.
