Agriculture Minister of Israel, URI Ariel believes that by the end of 2016, will sign a contract with Russia on free trade zone, radio station «Sieves Beth» on February 12.
The Israeli Minister is on a visit in Russia. He held talks with Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Arkady Dvorkovich and Minister of agriculture of the Russian Federation Alexander Tkachev, as well as his Deputy Sergey Levin.
URI Ariel also suggested that the end of the year will resolve the issue of pensions to immigrants from Russia. According to him, Arkady Dvorkovich promised to help address this problem.
As said Ariel, Israel will open a Russian center of research in the field of agro-technologies in order to share with Russia its experience in the exploitation of water resources and the industry of dairy products.
The Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation on results of negotiations with Ariel Tkachev said that Russia is ready to expand the supply of beef, mutton and poultry in Israel. In turn, the Israeli side has expressed interest in imports of Russian chicken eggs and exporting to the Russian market some food products. In addition, the Israeli vegetables and fruits claim to a niche vacated Turkish products, placed under restrictions of the Russian authorities.
The parties noted the challenges of Israeli exports to Russia because of the collapse of the ruble and announced that work on the solution to this problem.
It also became known that Alexander Tkachev and Arkady Dvorkovich plans to visit Israel.
