According to American Defense News website, Israel’s defense Ministry has begun to develop a next-generation system to intercept ballistic missiles «Arrow».
According to this source, the system «Arrow-4» will be more complex than in service of the IDF system «Arrow 3» and it is designed to protect against future threats from Iran.
«We are pleased to announce that the missile defense system Israel is working. But we cannot stand still and needs several steps ahead of our enemy», — quotes the website of Moshe Pamela, the head of a «home» Department of defense research and development under the Ministry of defence.
According to him, «Arrow-4» will have to face new technological developments of Iran in the field of offensive weapons. Loops noted that, as in the case of development of «Iron dome», Israel now managed to convince US that the new system has a future.
Boaz levy, Vice-President of the concern «Aviation industry» («TAAS Avira») and head of the Department of rocketry, said that the development of «Arrow-4» has just begun and is too early to have tested new missiles.
Note that the system «Arrow-3» was transferred to the air force of the IDF in January 2017. The system, developed under the leadership of the chief of a subcontractor of the Department «home» Department of defense research and development under defense concern «TAAS Averit», is a key element in layered defense system of the state of Israel, whose task is to protect against ballistic missiles.
At the end of June in the office of President Reuven Riblah, the creators of «Arrow-3» was awarded the Israel Prize in the field of security.
