Israeli judoka won two medals at the youth European championship

Maribor is the European youth championship in judo. The team of Israel the silver and bronze medals.

The silver medal was won by 20-year-old Betina Temelkova (weight category up to 52 kg). In the preliminary tournament, she defeated the Dutch Julie Kemink and Buyankhishig Purevsuren (Azerbaijan) in the semi — Belgian Miriam Blavier.

In the final Betina lost to the Turkish Irem Korkmaz.

Betina Temelkova plays for the national team of Israel in 2017. Previously, she represented Bulgaria. She is a silver medalist of the cadet European championship 2014, Junior European championship 2015 European Youth Olympics in Utrecht (2013), bronze medalist of the cadet world Championships 2013 Junior Olympics 2014.

Bronze medal in the same weight category won Gefen Primo. Preliminary fights she defeated Lisa Deng (Austria), Chelsea Gilles (UK) and Nina Estee Lynn, Estefania (Spain).

In the semi-finals Gefen lost Irem Korkmaz, and in the match for third place defeated Buyankhishig Purevsuren (Azerbaijan).
