On Thursday, 10 December, the office of the Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Egyptian prisons freed Israeli Bedouin UDA Tarabin, who was convicted for espionage in favor of Israel.
According to the office of the head of the government, Tarabin was released after having served fifteen years in prison. According to published information released is already in the territory of Israel.
It is also reported that on 10 December from Israeli prisons were released two citizens of Egypt, whose sentence had also expired.
Israeli Bedouin UDA Tarabin was in an Egyptian prison in 1999, when he was 19 years old. He was found guilty of spying for Israel and sentenced to fifteen years in prison.
Earlier it was reported that the sentence was handed down in absentia, and Tarabeen was arrested at the next border crossing. In another version of the Tarabeen, was arrested when he was herding camels and accidentally wandered into Egyptian territory in search of an animal that has strayed from the herd.
Egyptian border guards arrested him, and soon a Bedouin appeared before the court on charges of espionage.
