«Jews, remember July 1»: a series of anti-Semitic incidents in Lviv

Unidentified attackers threw a Molotov cocktail into the building of the main Lviv synagogues, located on the street Brothers Mikhnovsky. Adel Dianova, Director of the Ukrainian Jewish charity Foundation «Hesed-Arieh», said that in addition to this event in Lviv was committed another act of vandalism against the Jews: the walls of the synagogue, located at ul Sholom-aleykhema, 12, unknown persons wrote insulting remarks.

And on the street Sholem Aleichem, where the former house of the Jewish community, wrote «Down with the Jewish power» and «Jews, remember the 1st of July,» alluding to the riots that took place in Lviv on June 30-July 2, 1941, which killed 7,000 Jews», – leads edition of the words Dianobol.

Lviv city Council hastened to declare that condemns these anti-Semitic incidents: «We strongly condemn the acts of vandalism that occurred in Lviv. The perpetrators must be brought to justice. Turn to law enforcement and required to immediately investigate these actions. Lviv has always been a tolerant city».

Network Ukrainian edition of «Country» reported that recently, vandals scribbled Stella, located in the Lviv Area Synagogues, swastikas and slogans skinheads.
