Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon has ordered the transfer of the Palestinian authority 500 million shekels, and also approved a number of other steps to ease the economic situation in the PA. His actions have earned commendation from the President of the Palestinian Ministry of Finance Shukri Bishara.
After meeting with Becharay Kahlon ordered the transfer in PA money collected as customs duties and taxes. The transfer of these funds was detained by Israel, but in recent talks with Israeli Minister Bishara warned that the PA was on the verge of financial collapse.
After consultations with defense Minister Moshe Aalana the head of the Israeli Ministry of Finance also approved the issuance of new work permits within the green line to Palestinian workers, but also demanded the Palestinian authority to end incitement to violence. He stressed that in Ramallah the majority of the population never saw Israeli soldiers and police, but sympathizes with terrorists because of the aggressive propaganda, writes Nahum barnea «Yediot Ahronot».
The PA’s Ministry of Finance Shukri Bishara wrote a formal thank you letter to Israeli counterpart and expressed hope for the extension of Palestinian-Israeli economic cooperation.
