The Kremlin says that two years ago, when he was pardoned by the ex-head of YUKOS Mikhail Khodorkovsky, President Vladimir Putin had no information about the involvement of the disgraced oligarch in murder of mayor of Nefteyugansk Vladimir Petukhov.
About it writes on Tuesday, 8 December, news Agency TASS referring to the statement by Dmitry Peskov is Putin’s press-Secretary.
«Of course, was not and it (information) could not be. Not was the information that appeared now was the reason for the action taken by the investigating authorities», – quotes the edition words Peskov.
However, the representative of the Kremlin acknowledged that suspicions and «certain information» was available at the time of pardoning Khodorkovsky: «But investigators did not stop their work, here in this case we speak about the emergence of any new circumstances.»
Earlier in the day it was reported that Khodorkovsky, now living in Switzerland, in absentia accused of participation in murder of mayor of Nefteyugansk in 1998. In the agenda, which is delivered to his father in Moscow, says that the former head of YUKOS have 11 December to arrive in Russia’s Investigative Committee «for questioning as a defendant in a criminal case N18/35-03». On the document appears a note: deliver the summons personally to the defendant in the hands of failed, as it is outside of the country.
Khodorkovsky has already declared that is not going to take any action in connection with the call for questioning, as reported by its representative Olga Pispanen.
