Thursday, March 16, the Falcon 9 SpaceX with the commercial telecommunication satellite EchoStar 23 was launched from the spaceport at Cape Canaveral (Florida, USA).
EchoStar 23 satellite, developed by Space Systems/Loral, is designed to transmit a television signal to countries in South America and designed for 15 years. Its launch is planned for 2016, but was postponed after the explosion of the missile in September during pre-flight tests.
The launch was appointed on 14 March, and then postponed for two days due to strong winds.
EchoStar 23 weighs about 5.5 tons, it will operate in geostationary orbit.
