The legendary footballer of Jerusalem «Beitar», URI Malmilian participates in the ceremony of lighting the torch at the Israeli independence Day. It is traditionally held on mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
In 2017, marks the fiftieth anniversary of the unification of Jerusalem, and celebrations will be held under the slogan «Jerusalem is the eternal capital of Israel and the Jewish people.» URI rightly considered one of the symbols of the Israeli capital.
Malmilian, who is 59 years old, born in Jerusalem Mamila, which was considered a district of the poor. At age 16 he first entered the field in the «Beitar». Driven by the player with the number eight on a t-shirt, team first won the Cup of Israel, and for the first time won the championship.
