Tzipi Livni, the leader of the party «-TNW» and the representative of the oppositional block «the Zionist camp», met on 12 February in Munich with the Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov.
According to sources surrounded by Tzipi Livni, at a meeting of the Russian Minister expressed his understanding of the needs of Israel’s security, but called upon to break the stalemate in the peace process.
Sergey Lavrov also recommended to weigh the Arab peace initiative calling for Israel to retreat to 1967 borders in exchange for normalization of relations with the Arab and Islamic world.
In turn, Tzipi Livni told the foreign Minister that Israel fears the transfer of weapons to Russian terrorists of Hizbullah, and Lavrov assured that Moscow is taking measures to prevent acquiring modern weapons to terrorist groups.
Livni also held talks with high representative of the Union for foreign policy Federica Mogherini and discussed the Israel-European relations.
