Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas telephoned Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu condemned the attack perpetrated by residents of Umm El Fahm on the Temple mount.
He also called on Israel to cancel the decision about closing access to the temple mount and the cancellation of Friday prayers.
Meanwhile, the government of the Palestinian authority issued a condemnation of actions taken by the Israeli authorities after the attack, and called them «terrorist».
The government of Jordan, who is the patron of the Muslim shrines on the Temple mount, is in talks with Israel about cancellation of the decision about closing access to the mountain.
The Grand mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Fatah published calls not to obey the ban on access to the temple mount and to organize efforts to «break the blockade of the mosque «al-Aqsa».
