Monday, February 5, the President of the Palestinian national administration Mahmud Abbas has taken in his residence in Ramallah, relatives of 16-year-old Ahed Tamimi, accused of assaulting IDF soldiers.
In conversation with guests Mahmoud Abbas spoke about the commitment of Ahad and her family to the ideas of the struggle of the Palestinian people for their land. He stressed that «national resistance is a powerful weapon.»
Bassam Tamimi, father Ahad, after the meeting, said in an interview with Israel radio’s «can bet» that Mahmoud Abbas is interested in the case Ahead and trying to achieve her release from detention.
Ahed Tamimi, a resident of village of Nabi Salah, near Ramallah, was arrested along with his cousin 19 December 2017, after the social networks were circulated video of the incident that occurred four days earlier. It shows how adolescent girls of the family Tamimi insulted and beat two IDF soldiers. The soldiers did not use force.
January 1 Ahed Tamimi was indicted in the attack on IDF soldiers with aggravating circumstances, incitement, threats to the troops and throwing rocks. In total, the indictment filed by the military Prosecutor’s office, consisted of 12 items.
