This week a meeting was held between the Chairman of the Finance Committee of the Knesset Moshe Gaffney and Ukrainian businessman and honorary Consul of Israel to Ukraine Oleg Vishnyakov. According to media reports, the meeting discussed the prospects of bilateral cooperation.
Sites»Arutz-7″ and «Kikar-Shabbat» reported that during the meeting Moshe Gaffney has agreed to act as consultant of the Ukrainian politicians in order to help them to balance the country’s budget to the armed conflict in the East of the country.
Israeli politician selected as a consultant for a reason. Moshe Gaffney in discussions with Vishnyakov pointed out the similarity between the situations in Israel and Ukraine. First, both countries have to bear high expenditure on defence. Secondly, Israel and Ukraine are heavily dependent on exporting its products to other countries.
During the meeting of Veshnyakov noted that Ukraine needs help to find a balance between the expenditure and revenue appropriations. Moshe Gaffney, speaking on Israeli experience, noted that in the last state budget, a decision was made not to raise income tax, but taxes were increased for the development of natural resources.
Israeli media indicate that during this meeting it was decided to hold a joint meeting of the Finance Committee of the Knesset and of the tax Committee of the Verkhovna Rada.
