As claimed by the Arab media, which controls the Gaza strip, the group Hamas agreed to sign a national reconciliation agreement proposed by Egypt’s President Abd al-Fattah al-Sisi.
According to the proposal, Hamas had to dissolve the administration of the Gaza strip power authority, alternative Palestinian national authority. PNA in full, would restore funding for the sector.
All employed by Hamas civil servants were to become part of the public sector of the Palestinian authority. Offer al-Sisi also called for the creation of a national unity government and holding elections in all Palestinian territories.
Initially this proposal was accepted and the PNA head Mahmoud Abbas. But then the official Ramallah came up with an alternative proposal, which Hamas rejected.
At the same time, as analysts note, the PNA is interested in the speedy formation of a government of national unity. Abbas believes it is the only way to prevent involvement in the administration of Gaza, Muhammad Dahlan – his main political opponent.
