At least 34 people were killed as a result of the strike of Russian air forces on crossing the Euphrates, located near the city of Deir AZ-Zour in Eastern Syria. It is reported by human rights organization, The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
According to human rights activists, all the victims were civilians who fled the war zone. Among the victims of the bombing – nine children. The number of victims could increase as the river washed all of the new body, according to the website «al-Bawaba».
As stated, the nationality of the attackers were established based on the types of aircraft and munitions used. During the attack on the ferry, there were about 40 boats heading to the East Bank of the Euphrates.
Meanwhile, the Syrian army said it has full control over the highway connecting the dir al-Zur to Damascus. In 2014, its Eastern part was occupied by militants of the «Islamic state».
