«Kommersant» writes that the plans of the two countries could prevent two factors: in particular, the lack of money from Tehran. According to sources of Kommersant, Tehran expects to buy Russian arms on credit in Moscow, however, not ready to take this due to the economic crisis.
The second complicating factor is the resolution of the UN security Council, imposing restrictions on the supply to Iran of conventional weapons. In accordance with the terms of a deal on Iran’s nuclear program, Tehran deliveries of tanks, armored combat vehicles, artillery systems of the big calibre (10 mm and above), combat aircraft and helicopters, warships, missiles or missile systems can be carried out only with the permission of the UN security Council.
