On Wednesday evening, July 27, the economic newspaper the Marker, and «kalkalist» reported that a large Israeli food manufacturer Unilever has suddenly stopped the supply to the stores of its flagship products – corn flakes, «Thelma» «Delican».
According to reports, the company has decided to send huge shipment of product for additional verification, however, the reasons for which the shelves are formed lack of a popular Israeli corn flakes, was not specified.
The press service of the Unilever issued a statement in which he stressed that «the company always holds a very strict check all their products before they go to market.»
«Sometimes these checks lead to a temporary shortage of goods in the stores, but our company never compromises in the quality of our products and their high standards. All the company’s products, including cornflakes, «Thelma», conform to the standards and safe for consumption,» — said in a communiqué to the press.
Late at night the portal ynet reported that the reason for the termination of supply was the discovery of bacteria on the production lines of corn flakes, and that the company informed the Ministry of health only after information about the problems hit the media.
