On Tuesday, February 6, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, along with members of the military-political Cabinet, conducted a reconnaissance in the Golan heights. At the lookout, located on mount Avital, the chief of the General staff, commander of the Northern military district and the commander of the division «Bashan» was presented to the Cabinet an analysis of the operational situation.
The head of the government during this visit stated that Israel hopes for peace, but ready for any eventuality.
Note that the visit of Ministers to the Golan took place against the background of tension between Israel and Lebanon over the construction of the protective concrete structures at the border. A day earlier, the Lebanese authorities have demanded from the IDF to immediately remove the 13 fortified points on the boundary, between which construction began, arguing that they are in the area of so-called «blue line».
On Tuesday, February 6, Lebanon has warned that it will seek support from the international community, claiming that Israel’s actions are a threat to stability in the region.
