Thursday, December 24, at the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan the new Ambassador of Israel Michael (Michael) Brodsky presented the Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs Samat Ordabaev copies of letters of credence and proceeded to their duties.
Brodsky became the first career diplomat, a representative of the «great aliyah», appointed to the post of Ambassador of Israel. He was replaced as Ambassador in Kazakhstan Eli Tasman.
Michael Brodsky immigrated in 1990. He entered the foreign service in 2001. From 2003 to 2008, he worked at the Embassy in Moscow, first as press Secretary, then a political adviser. In 2009 he was appointed attaché outreach at the Israeli Embassy in London. Served as Counsellor in the Department «Eurasia-2» the Israeli Foreign Ministry.
In early August it became known that in the framework of the programme to reduce the budget of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Israel will close eight diplomatic missions of Israel.
