In the headquarters of the US state Department in Washington, Monday, June 5, held a ceremony at which the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Dusko Markovic referred to the Deputy Secretary of state Thomas Shannon, the Protocol on the accession of Montenegro to NATO. The ceremony was attended by the Secretary General of the Alliance Jens Stoltenberg.
Thus, Montenegro has officially joined the Alliance, becoming its 29th member.

Shortly before the ceremony, the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Russia issued a statement, according to which Moscow reserves the right to retaliate due to the «hostile line» Podgorica on the background of the formal completion of membership of Montenegro in NATO, reports «Interfax».
