In the Declaration published on the eve of South African scientists have announced that they will not accept invitations to Israeli universities and the participants will be organized or funded by the Israelis in scientific forums.

These scientists agree, however, to continue to work with Israeli colleagues during personal contacts, but only if they will Express solidarity with the Palestinians.
The boycott will continue until such time as «the State of Israel does not recognize international laws and respect universal principles and civil rights,» reads the Declaration.
Among the signatories are University professors and employees of research institutes and think tanks. They argue that the «deeply concerned» illegal occupation of Palestinian land and violation of basic rights of the Palestinian people, as well as «strong Israel» in any peace settlement.
Earlier the Declaration was signed by 600 120 British and Irish scientists.
