In Haifa, Netanyahu and modi visited the British military cemetery, where are buried the Indian soldiers who died in combat in 1917-1918.

The heads of government laid wreaths at the monument to Indian soldiers who took part in the ceremony of the establishment of a memorial plate and left notes in the guest book of the cemetery.

Netanyahu wrote: «In memory of the brave Indian soldiers who contributed to the liberation of our land».
Modi left the following entry: «I am proud to stand here and salute the brave Indian soldiers who gave their lives for the benefit of the liberation of Haifa during the First world war. Uncommon valor Dalpat Singh, the hero of Haifa, and his warriors will not be forgotten never and will serve as inspiration for future generations. Next year will mark the 100th anniversary of the battle for Haifa, this is another opportunity to give due attention to long-term relations of India and Israel.»
