Held at acre conference devoted to the development of the Galilee and the Negev, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the government’s intention to build an airport in the Jezreel valley, near the military airfield, Ramat David, writes the newspaper Haaretz.
Netanyahu expressed confidence that the emergence of the international airport in Galilee will serve as an impetus for the prosperity of the area. He also noted that, together with the Ministry of tourism checks the possibility of expanding the airport Mahanaim (near Rosh Pina).
Ha’aretz, in turn, notes that for nearly two decades plans are being discussed to build a second international airport.
