Tuesday, December 8, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke at a meeting of the economic Committee of the Knesset. The subject of his talk was «the gas agreement», and the fact that his claim was overlooked powers of the competition authority.
During the meeting the Prime Minister, acting as Minister of economy, stated that «the development of gas fields is the task of Israel’s national security».
Among other things, Netanyahu said during the meeting that «the Israeli power plant, in particular in Hadera, has been the target of rocket attacks».
«Let’s imagine what would happen if we focused all our energy in one place», — said the head of government.
He criticized the activity of the head of the competition authority, calling it «incomprehensible».
The speech of Netanyahu was repeatedly interrupted by shouts of opposition MPs. Shelly Yakhimovich («Zionist camp») accused Netanyahu that he was speculating on security issues».
