Tuesday, September 26, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a telephone conversation with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Netanyahu congratulated Merkel on election victory and promised that relations between Israel and Germany will continue to evolve.

In the night of Monday, September 25, summed up the results of the General elections in Germany. The highest number of votes received CDU/CSU led by Chancellor Angela Merkel. For the ruling party voted 33% of voters. For the Social democratic party (SPD) voted to 20.5%.
Third place in this election, took the right-wing party «Alternative for Germany», scored 12.6% of the votes.
